BIOGRAPHY
Australian pop singer, songwriter and producer Magnus Murphy's music is Anthemic Pop, electrifying and soulful. Magnus has returned to Brisbane from writing and recording new music such as his next single Take It Off in Los Angeles with notable producers such as Mitch Kenny (Zedd, Elton John, Beyonce). Only recently performing for Style Magazines sold out event to raise funds for the bushfire relief.
Magnus’s self wrote and produced his latest single Colours and co-wrote and produced his prior single Feel Something with Jack Press and Simon Cohen at Studios 301 in Sydney in 2019. Magnus released his single Volcano April 2018 who he co-wrote and produced with Aria Award Winning Producer Stuart Stuart (Sheppard, The Veronicas) at Analogue Heart Records. He also launched Volcano with a live performance in front of an audience of 3000 people at the Brisbane Convention Centre at the DDP Boxing match again Hogan and Kelly, with the live recording video achieving over 100 Thousand views on youtube. He also lead the crowd in singing the Australian National Anthem to kick off the main event the same evening.
His debut single in 2017 Lightning was self-written, co-produced in his studio and mastered by Grammy Award-winning engineer Tom Coyne (Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Adele). Lightning has now achieved over one-hundred thousand streams on Spotify and the music video has been viewed over ten-thousand times on Vevo / YouTube. Magnus has performed Lightning and his original compilation (album's length worth) of self written music at numerous shows around clubs and performance venues throughout the past year, with positive reviews from critics, including Konzert Magazine:

Magnus has also performed at a variety of high profile publicly televised charity events such as the Service Of Remembrance for Donate Life Queensland 2017 (QLD Organ Donation Foundation) and the I Can I Will foundation’s Black Tie 5th Birthday Gala where he performed his unreleased single Silverline which is aimed at preventing student suicide as a result of cyber bullying which is a cause he feels passionate about making a difference for.
Growing up, Magnus had an extensive involvement in classical music, musicals and theatre. He has been trained in piano, clarinet and violin, performing in a range of school bands, choirs and school theatre productions. He is largely self-taught on the guitar and found his passion for writing and performing Pop music from his artistic inspirations like Coldplay. Magnus began fronting bands as a teenager, performing publicly in clubs after graduating from school prior to embarking on his solo career. As a university graduate, Magnus holds a Bachelor of Audio Production and a Diploma of Sound Production from SAE Institute Brisbane in 2013. Magnus won SAE’s prize for the best final audio production project.
